We are The Lit Festival.

Europe's first festival

of reading and writing curated

by young people, for young people.

Co-Organising

We believe that to create events for young people, that young people should lead the way. We provide leadership opportunities for young people who want to learn about festival management.

Mentorship

We support young people's creative and professional growth and  ensure they're connected to opportunities that can ready them for the next step in their lives. regardless of discipline.

Alumni

We've been built on the hard work of ambitious young people and brave adults, so, ensuring that those who have passed the torch on remain part of our story is key to our journey going forward.

Workshops

We aim to offer accessible, world-class workshops with leading creative voices to young people, during and beyond our festival.

Events

We strive to curate diverse events that range from Q&As to meet-and -greets, networking sessions to chillout spaces.

Showcasing

We want to create opportunities for young people to share their work through performance and publication.

Not only did I gain confidence and self-esteem, but I also made friends for life and got to meet world-class writers. The Lit demystified writing, and gave me opportunities that I still benefit from.

The Lit truly empowered and shaped me to become a teenager who was passionate and engaged, and who recognised the power of young people in an increasingly difficult world.

Working in such a dynamic and responsible role from such a young age meant that I got experience years ahead of my peers, that continues to stand to me now in my professional adult career.

The Lit gave me the opportunity, not only to engage with literature and the arts in a unique way, but also to take on personal responsibility in shaping a
large-scale cultural event.
